Junior Lawyer - LawRight

LawRight is an independent, not-for-profit community legal centre which provides pro bono legal help to people and organisations who can't afford a lawyer. We are recruiting a Junior Lawyer to join us in delivering pro bono legal services. Our Junior Lawyers work with LawRight services on rotation within the Self-Representation Service, the Homeless Persons' Legal Clinic, and Pro Bono Connect.

LawRight services include the Self-Representation Service which assists self-represented litigants to navigate QCAT and the civil trial divisions of the Supreme and District Courts and the Queensland Court of Appeal; the Homeless Persons’ Legal Clinic which provides outreach casework services to vulnerable clients and Pro Bono Connect which assesses and refers complex legal matters to solicitors and barristers for pro bono representation.

Duties include: Assist with client and casework management, including supervision of volunteers and students; assess applications to LawRight and undertake supervised casework; assist with training, research, resource development and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications: Admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland or capable of admission.

Salary range depending on experience $55, 000 - 61,000 and generous salary sacrifice available, plus 9.5% superannuation and six weeks annual leave pro rata.
