Sarah Chase

Sarah has worked at the Department of Justice and Attorney-General (DJAG) since 2010 and is currently the Principal Project Officer in Legal Assistance Strategy and Funding (LASF). Sarah’s career has a strong community justice focus, having spent time at the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages and Victim Assist Queensland.

As the Principal Project Officer, Sarah is responsible for leading the implementation of the National Legal Assistance Partnership in Queensland and is LASF’s procurement guru. In her role Sarah works closely with CLCQ to ensure the best possible outcomes for CLCs and the vulnerable and disadvantaged people they deliver services to.

Outside of her work in LASF, Sarah is a member of the DJAG LGBTIQ+ Working Group and leads the DJAG LGBTIQ+ Strengthening Leadership subgroup, working to bring cultural change to facilitate inclusive, diverse and supportive workplaces. Sarah is also part of DJAG’s mentoring program providing support to staff looking to develop.

In her spare time, Sarah is a perpetual student with a PhD in German-Russian history in progress (kind of) and she loves to keep active with her beloved schnauzer, Heidi.
