Join us for this year's Community Legal Centres Queensland Leadership Forum which is taking place in sunny Cairns. The event is taking place 24 to 25 October 2019 at the Holiday Inn, Cairns.
The two days are an opportunity for leaders from community legal centres to come together to discuss common issues, including:
Leading people and teams: supervision, wellbeing, partnerships and governance
Leading quality services: procurement, grant writing, cultural safety and technology
The sessions will include a variety of presentations, panel discussions and workshops focusing on a broad range of issues relevant to the community legal centre staff.
Delegates will have the chance to register for the full workshop or just one day.

Are there any social events?
Community Legal Centres Queensland have booked a table at the Bayleaf Balinese Restaurant for dinner on Thursday, 24 October, 2019. We will be meeting at 6.30pm and the address is 227 Lake Street, Cairns. People are asked to pay their own way and they can order from the menu which you can view here. There is no need to register for the dinner but please email Cathy at to let her know that you are coming.
Can I attend part of the conference?
Yes, the conference is broken up into two days. You have the option to register for the full event, or just one day.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes, another person can attend the event in your place. Please email the details of the person attending in your place so that we can update their name tag and registration details.
What is the refund policy?
There are no refunds available. You are welcome to send someone else in your place.

There are a number of hotels in Cairns. Some suggestions include:

Is there any parking at the venue?
Car parking at the Holiday Inn is complimentary. There is also complimentary street parking available out the front of the hotel and on The Esplanade.

Can I get CPD points for attending?
Queensland legal practitioners may self-assess 1 unit per hour of attendance where the content meets your requirements for professional development and allows you to develop the knowledge and/or skill to be applied in legal practice. Travel and accommodation subsidies
Travel and accommodation subsidies are available to centres that are located outside of Cairns. Community Legal Centres Queensland will allocate the funding according to the greatest distance travelled. To apply for a subsidy, please download the Travel Subsidy Form below.
