The Mental Health First Aid course teaches adults how to provide support to adults who are experiencing a mental health crisis or developing a mental illness. The tools and skills gained from MHFA can provide early intervention and support to someone who can then be referred on for professional treatment.
There are two components to the online MHFA course.
Part 1: E-learning component
This component takes around 5-7 hours to complete and must be complete prior to part 2. You do not have to complete it all in one sitting, you can save your work to pace out the learning
Part 2: Instructor-led component
This component requires you to attend two instructor-led sessions via zoom video conferencing. The sessions last for 2.5 hours and are run on consecutive days
You must complete all e-learning and attend both online classes to obtain accreditation.
Upon completion, you are accredited as a Mental Health First Aider for three years.
