The main objective of Junkuri Laka Community Legal Centre Aboriginal Corporation is to promote the wellbeing of the people of the Wellesley Islands, in particular through engagement with government organisations and being active in matters affecting residents’ human, legal and civil rights. Some of the ways in which the organisation does this is by running a domestic violence program, men's support group program and a mediation service on the island.
The centre assists the peoples of the Wellesley Islands and is based on Mornington island.
The centre cannot assist you if the matter relates to a general banking service matter (as opposed to a dispute) such as transfering money from one account to another.
Where there is a conflict of interest such as handling legal disputes between two members of the community and native title matter, the centre is also unable to assist.
