The Mackay Regional Community Legal Centre Inc. (MRCLC) provides free and confidential legal information, legal advice and referral throughout the Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac Regional Council areas.
MRCLC provides a generalist legal service, which includes family law (property and parenting matters), employment, debt, neighbourhood disputes and consumer disputes. MRCLC is a partner of the Queensland Statewide Tenant Advice and Referral Service (QSTARS) providing advice to tenants and rooming accommodation residents.
The MRCLC also operates a DV duty lawyer service and a Mental Health Review Tribunal Representation Service, but only upon referral from Legal Aid Queensland.
MRCLC carries out CLE on various topics through its service area, which is Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac regional council areas.
MRCLC does not assist: Lessors, high income earners, commercial matters, criminal matters, PI, no conveyancing or native title.
MRCLC does not provide court or QCAT representation. Service area for generalist program is the Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac regional council areas.

On the fourth Friday of the month MRCLC provides advice at the Whitsunday Counselling & Support Inc and Proserpine Community Centre. WC&S is located at 1/157 Shute Harbour Road, Cannonvale. Proserpine CC is located at 36 Gardenia Street, Proserpine. Once a month MRCLC travels to Sarina Neighbourhood Centre, which is located at 65 Broad Street, Sarina.

MRCLC provides free and confidential legal information, advice, referral and counselling throughout the Mackay Regional Council, Whitsunday Regional Council and Isaac Regional Council areas. This can be provided in a face to face interview or by telephone.
On-going casework is subject to casework guidelines. No court representation is provided. Legal advice is provided by appointment only, so please telephone us to make a booking.
The MRCLC provides legal advice appointments in Cannonvale at the Whitsunday Crisis and Counselling Service (WCCS) and Proserpine Community Centre on the third Friday of the month. These outreach services may also include general information sessions on certain areas of law, such as family law.
The MRCLC delivers information sessions at the Family Relationship Centre in Mackay in partnership with Legal Aid (Mackay) and the Family Relationship Centre. The MRCLC receives funding to participate in this partnership from the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Department. The sessions are designed to inform and educate separated parents about their legal rights and responsibilities and their children’s rights and to prepare separated parents for mediation.
Translation services are available by arrangement. Clients are welcome to bring a support person to their appointment if they so choose.
Additionally, MRCLC provides tenancy advice as part of the Queensland Statewide Tenant Advice and Referral Service (QSTARS).
The MRCLC may provide services in other towns, such as Bowen, Moranbah and Sarina. Please check their website under the Services tab to find out when they will next be visiting those areas.
