Mackay Regional Community Legal Centre work with client to reconnect water

Albert* was residing on a small island with a 5 year tenancy agreement. He was required to maintain the property while he resided there. Albert had a falling out with Teresa and Evan, the lessor of the premises. Due to this falling out, Teresa and Evan cut off Albert’s water supply and also wanted him evicted from the premises without giving appropriate notice.

Mackay Regional Community Legal Centre assisted Albert in applying to QCAT to have the water supply turned back on to his premises, which occurred within a few days. Albert was able to remain living in the premises to see out his tenancy. The Mackay Regional Community Legal Centre also advised him on a number of other issues that arose from his situation and referred him to organisations that could assist with housing.
