Mental Health Law Practice negotiates debt relief for 'George'

George* was admitted to a mental health unit on an involuntary treatment order with a diagnosis of schizophrenia and manic depression. George needed some help with debts that he had incurred while he was unwell and was referred to QPILCH’s Mental Health Law Practice outreach clinic. The Mental Health Law Practice negotiated with several different companies to either have outstanding amounts waived or a manageable payment plan set up.

George is back in the community and said that the Mental Health Law Practice's assistance had a positive impact on his wellbeing because there were many positive results, the debt was decreased and it made it a lot easier financially.
