The lack of accessible parking made Leanne and Karen feel like prisoners in their own home. After many months of trying to negotiate an outcome directly with the housing managers, the Leanne and Karen contacted Basic Rights Queensland to get some advice and assistance.
Basic Rights Queensland wrote to the housing company on behalf of the Leanne and Karen outlining their obligations under Anti-Discrimination Laws and requested accessible parking be made available. The Housing Company rectified the parking issue and Leanne and Karen are now able to enjoy accessing the community again.
