Introduction to Property Law Settlement (Part A)

Community legal centres are often asked to provide advice to separating clients trying to reach agreement by consent regarding the division of property of the relationship. Even if they to reach agreement with their former partner, the rules applying to the division of property can be complicated.

In the first of a two webinar series, Caris Tysoe (Peel Community Legal Service) covers introductory issues, including definitions and legal principles, how the Family Court of Western Australia (FCWA) treats Property Settlements, Marriage v De Facto Relationships and other practical information.
