Queensland Advocacy for Inclusion (QAI) is an independent, community-based systems and individual advocacy organisation, registered charity and community legal service for people with disability. QAI’s purpose is to advocate for the protection and advancement of the needs, rights and lives of people with disability in Queensland.

In your initial phone call to QAI the Client Services team will ask for some basic information about you and your situation. If they can help, they will make an appointment for you with an advocate. If they are unable to help, they will try to refer you to an organisation that can. Be ready with contact information, your availability and any relevant details, dates and documents for your matter.

QAI is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Social Services, the Queensland Department of Justice and Attorney-General, the Commonwealth Attorney-General allocated by the Queensland Government, the Queensland Department of Seniors, Disability Services and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, funded representation for Mental Health Review Tribunal hearings through Legal Aid Queensland, in addition to one-off project funding and donations. QAI is run by a committee, the majority of whom are people with disabilities.
