The reform of Australia’s employment and industrial relations laws was a key agenda item in the 2022 Federal Election. By the end of 2022, the Respect at Work Act, Secure Jobs, Better Pay Act and Paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave Act introduced the most significant reforms to Australia’s IR laws in nearly two decades.
Join us as Andrew Tobin, Partner, and John Hickey, Solicitor, from HopgoodGanim Lawyers’ Workplace and Employment team, discuss the major reforms which all Australian employers (including community legal centres) need to be aware of, including:
- the positive duty to eliminate sexual harassment
- the new paid entitlement to family and domestic violence leave
- changes to enterprise bargaining and
- limits on fixed term contracts and the prohibition of pay secrecy clauses.
