In this webinar, Hamish Mulcahy and Chiara Falzon of Hopgood Ganim Lawyers will discuss recent amendments to the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth), focussing on some of the changes to Part VII of the Act and highlighting major areas of reform, including:
• the removal of the presumption of equal shared parental responsibility;
• the elimination of the pathway for considering ‘live with’ and ‘spend time with’ provisions
• the introduction of refined ‘best interests’ factors; and
• the addition of section 65DAAA, which addresses the ‘reconsideration of final parenting orders’
Hamish and Chiara will also offer practical guidance on drafting parenting orders and affidavits within this new framework, and discuss recent decisions relating to section 65DAAA.
