Applications close 7 February.
As our next Administration Worker, you will often be the first point of contact for women who are accessing our services for the first time. Many of our clients will contact us during times of significant distress, e.g. after experiencing domestic violence. As such, a critical component of this role will be the effective and sensitive delivery of intake services – either for the purpose of receiving legal assistance from our team, or for referrals to external agencies and other stakeholders.
Additionally, you will be responsible for performing the vital administrative duties within the service that ensure our clients have access to up-to-date information and other resources. This will include stocking of brochures, formatting of documents, maintaining file management systems, general office support, and reception duties.
Although the majority of your duties will be performed on-site at the NQWLS Townsville office, you will at times be required to travel to courts and other locations to perform intake and administrative services. You’ll be provided with access to a company vehicle for your time spent travelling for work purposes.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TEAM
This is a key role within the organisation that will see the successful candidate assisting vulnerable community members in receiving timely and trauma-informed support services. Many of our clients engage with our centre for the purpose of receiving assistance with domestic violence or other distressing situations, so your warm and empathetic demeanour will be critical to your success in this position.
You will also be a strong administrator, with demonstrated experience engaging with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders, ideally within the community services industry or a related sector.
Knowledge and understanding of the philosophy of community legal centres, social justice and human rights issues affecting women in Australia today and an ability to apply an intersectional lens to your work.
Other requirements include:
- Open Driver’s Licence
- Willingness to undergo a criminal history check
Candidates with experience in processing clients and performing intake in a trauma-informed environment will be highly regarded.
