THE OPPORTUNITY

We have a part- / full-time (4 or 5 days) role in our Brisbane office.

The TQ QSTARS Expert Support Worker plays a critical role in the delivery of expert, accurate and consistent tenancy advice and casework services to residential renters.

You will be a part of the Brisbane North regional team, based in Spring Hill to support the delivery of quality, accurate and consistent advisory services to Eligible persons throughout the region by assisting QSTARS workers and delivering casework services. The position will assist the Regional Services Coordinator to ensure compliance with TQ’s risk management processes.

You will also be empowering and supporting tenants and residents by providing advice regarding tenancy law related issues by appropriately working on client referrals from the QSTARS Hub contact centre to the QSTARS regional office and at times from other community service providers.

With a commitment to the principles of social justice, you will support TQ’s delivery of the QSTARS program by role modelling our values of empowerment and respect.

You will possess (or have the ability to rapidly acquire) knowledge of The Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008. The ability to relate to people from different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds is essential and a Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field, such as social work or human services and previous experience working in the Social Welfare or other community related sector would be highly regarded.

You will be a team player, you’ll have highly developed verbal and written communication skills and bring a can-do attitude. You’ll have the ability to work in a high functioning environment to successfully achieve program outcomes and outputs.
