Many lawyers, regardless of their practice area, will advise or represent people who have experienced or used violence in their intimate or family relationships, making domestic and family violence (DFV) best practice an important attribute of contemporary lawyering. Associate Professor Francesca Bartlett has researched what it means to be a ‘good’ DFV lawyer, and the essential knowledge and skills lawyers should aspire to develop and maintain in their practice.
